Acrow Bridge Employees Extend Holiday Goodwill to Morris County Residents in Need

7th annual project helps gladden the season for families, individuals and seniors

PARSIPPANY, N.J., Dec. 18, 2018 (GLOBE NEWSWIRE) -- Employees at Acrow Bridge, a leading international bridge engineering and supply company, continued their tradition of celebrating the spirit of the holiday season by contributing gifts to those in need throughout Morris County. The project kicked off in early November and concluded with an employee event to wrap the gifts at Acrow’s headquarters in Parsippany, New Jersey on December 13.

The families and individuals served by the Acrow project were referred by Operation Holiday, a nonprofit co-sponsored by the Woman’s Club of Morristown and the Daily Record. Now in its 48th year, Operation Holiday brings attention to struggling families in need of a helping hand, particularly during the holiday season. Since 1971, the annual event has raised more than $3.2 million. In 2017, more than 500 families and individuals received basic necessities as well as special “wish list” items. All administrative costs for the annual event are covered by the sponsors, and all work is completed with the help of volunteers.

This year, Acrow fulfilled the wish lists of 13 children and four seniors. Gifts included toys and winter clothing, coats and shoes for the children, and clothing, cookies and slippers for the seniors. Gift cards for groceries were also provided to parents of the children.

The team at Acrow was once again led by employees Terry Toliver and Gina Wierzbinski, who noted that as in previous years, the generosity and participation of their colleagues was “phenomenal.” Said Toliver, “It’s terrific to be able to give back to our community and lift the spirits of those who may feel they are forgotten.” Wierzbinski, added, “It feels great to be a part of something that truly embodies the goodwill of the season, and to know that our efforts will make a positive difference in the lives of many people.”

“Participating in Operation Holiday has become a wonderful Acrow tradition and we are abundantly grateful to Terry and Gina for their continued dedication and organizational skills that help to make this a successful event,” said Bill Killeen, CEO of Acrow Bridge. “Operation Holiday is a marvelous nonprofit and our participation in their program results in Acrow Team members uncovering what is already resident in each, and that is the best of human nature, which demonstrates as kindness, love, caring, giving, and empathy. It is an immense privilege to work with fellow Acrow Team members who have the biggest of hearts for all and especially those experiencing challenging circumstances. Whether directly or indirectly involved in Operation Holiday, I am exceedingly proud of the Acrow Team.”
