Acrow Bridge Provides Missouri National Guard with Modular Steel Bridge

Structure allows National Guard soldiers to train on erection and disassembly of Acrow bridges

PARSIPPANY, N.J., Nov. 14, 2017 (GLOBE NEWSWIRE) -- Acrow Bridge, a leading international bridge engineering and supply company, announced today it has rented a modular steel bridge to the Missouri National Guard’s 1438th Engineer Company. The structure is being used to train National Guard members on Acrow’s XS700 panel bridge, which has been selected as a standard Line of Communication Bridge for logistical support by military organizations around the world, including the U.S. Army.

Acrow bridges are used all over the world and are capable of supporting large armored tanks and other heavy vehicles under a variety of conditions. They are durable, easy to maintain, and the components are easily transported and reused wherever a temporary or permanent bridge is needed. Designed for fast assembly and disassembly, the Acrow modular bridging solution is a portable system that can be reused by military organizations on the move. In addition to the U.S. Army, current and previous military partnerships have included the Canadian Army, the British Army, the Australian Defence Force, the National Army of Colombia, the Chilean Army, the Israeli Defense Forces, the Indonesian Army and United Nations Peacekeeping operations.

Acrow’s modular bridge, 70’ long by 18’ wide, was design engineered by Acrow and delivered to the National Guard Training Depot in Macon, Missouri. It is expected that the bridge will be in use for three months.

“Acrow has worked with the military in more than two dozen countries around the world, providing ready-to-assemble bridging solutions like the Acrow 700XS bridge,” said Bill Killeen, CEO of Acrow Bridge. “Acrow uses only high quality, high strength steel from US mills that hold certification from the International Organization for Standardization (ISO). Our bridges have been full-scale tested for load-carrying capability by multiple organizations, from Lehigh University and Delaware University to the United States Army and sovereign nations.”
