On Thursday, June 24, about 55 of the 135 units at Champlain Towers South collapsed around 1:30 a.m. Here are stories of the victims who have currently been identified.

Estelle Hedaya, 54, Apt. 604: Estelle Hedaya was the last victim to be identified. Her brother, Ikey Hedaya, confirmed that she had been identified to the Associated Press. She was director of operations at Continental Buying Group (CBG) and Preferred Jewelers International. Born in Brooklyn, N.Y., Hedaya had been involved in the jewelry industry since high school, her employer said.

Angela Velasquez, 60, Julio Cesar Velasquez, 67, Theresa Velasquez, 36, Apt. 304: Angela Velasquez was born in Colombia and owned Fiorelli, a men’s clothing and furnishings retailer inside the Weston Town Center. Her husband, Julio Cesar Velasquez was retired. Their 36-year-old daughter, Theresa Velasquez, an executive with the entertainment company Live Nation, arrived from Los Angeles Wednesday night, June 23, to visit her parents. It was the night before the collapse. Angela and her daughter, Theresa, were recovered on Thursday, July 8 while Julio was recovered the next day, according to Miami-Dade Police.

Linda March, 58, Penthouse 4: The real estate attorney from New York moved from the Upper West Side of Manhattan to Surfside a few months ago, friends said, after a tough 2020 where she battled COVID-19. She had lived in Miami before and thought the nice weather would be good for her health. “She had a heart of gold,” her friend Paula Silverman told the Jerusalem Post, and would often dole out legal help free of charge. March was recovered on Monday, July 5, but the confirmation from Miami Dade Police came on Wednesday, July 21. She is one of the last victims to be identified.

Dr. Brad Cohen, 51, 11th floor: Dr. Cohen founded Aventura Orthopaedics and Sports Medicine in North Miami Beach. He started out getting a degree in computer science from Williams College in Williamstown, Mass., and then went on to get a medical degree in Cincinnati. He was affiliated with Aventura Hospital, Mount Sinai, North Shore Medical Center. His brother, Dr. Gary Cohen, was staying with him in an apartment on the 11th floor and had come to town to visit the brothers’ ailing father in Boynton Beach. They both perished in the collapse. Both were reported recovered on Wednesday, July 7.

Cassondra “Cassie” Billedeau-Stratton, fourth floor: The 40-year-old wife of Colorado political strategist Michael Stratton was on the phone with her husband who was in Washington, D.C., for work when the Champlain Towers South collapsed. She was standing on their fourth-floor balcony when she described seeing an outdoor swimming pool one level below her cave in, her husband said. He described her as a “bright and kind soul with an adventurous spirit.” He said his wife, a native of Kenner, Louisiana, split her time between Florida, New York City and Colorado and worked as a model, actress and Pilates instructor. Her husband said in a statement: “Her talent and determination allowed her to accomplish so much in her short life and leave a mark that will last for the rest of ours.” She was identified as recovered on Saturday, July 10.

Judith “Judy” Spiegel, Apt. 603: Kevin Spiegel spent Father’s Day with his wife, Judy, 65, in their apartment at Champlain Towers South, which they had purchased almost five years before the tragedy at Surfside. Kevin had flown to California after that, where he was working with a hospital group. Spiegel’s legacy lives on, in many places and in may ways, family and friends say, especially in Chattanooga, Tenn., where the couple lived for six years while Kevin was CEO of Erlanger Hospital. She was the creator of the hospital’s now annual fundraiser gala, the Believe Bash, which supports the Children’s Hospital. Judy Spiegel was originally from Plainview, N.Y., near the North Shore of Long Island. She was recovered on Friday, July 9.

Moises Rodan, 28, Apt. 403: An alumni of University of Florida, graduating in May only a month before the collapse, Rodan wrote on Linked In, accompanied by a picture of himself in cap and gown: “I am happy to share that I have completed my Bachelor of Science degree in Computer Engineering at the University of Florida. It has been an amazing journey of hard work and consistency. Special thanks to my family, mentors, and friends who supported me during this important chapter of my life. Go Gators!” The native of Caracas, Venezuela, served on the student board of the Lubavitch-Chabad Jewish Center at UF, according to Chabad.org, and was known for his million-dollar smile. He was reported recovered on Sunday, July 11.

Andres Levine, 26, Apt. 403: Emigrating from Venezuela seven years ago to Miami, Andres Levin was a financial analyst who was looking forward to being married in August. He was in the same apartment as high school friend Moises Rodan when the Champlain Towers collapsed. According to chabad.org, Levine and Rodan attended Colegio Moral y Luces Herzl-Bialik, a private Jewish high school in Caracas. Luis Sandovic, who was also killed in the collapse, also attended the same school. Andres was reported recovered on the same day as his friend Rodan on Sunday, July 11.

Raymond and Mercedes “Mercy” Urgelles, Apt. 211: The couple had lived in the building for about seven years, family members said. The parents of two children, Mercedes was director of Pharmacy Services at Coral Gables Hospital. Their bodies were recovered on Sunday, July 11.

Sophia López Moreira, 36, Luis Pettengill, 36, Alexia Maria Pettengill López Moreira, 9, Anna Sophia Pettengill López Moreria, 6 and Luis López Moreira III, 3, tenth floor: Sophia López Moreira is the sister of Silvana López Moreira, the first lady of the Republic of Paraguay, who is married to President Mario Abdo Benitez. Sophia’s body was recovered on Thursday, July 8. Her husband, Luis Pettengill and the couple’s children, Luis López Moriera III, 3, Anna Sophia Pettengill López Moriera, 6, and Alexia Maria Pettengill López Moreira, were recovered on Wednesday, July 7.

Leidy Luna Villalba, 23, tenth floor: Villalba was identified by the Foreign Ministry of Paraguay as one of 6 Paraguayan nationals missing in the collapse. They named 3 individuals: Luis Pettengill, Sophia López-Moreira, and Villalba and three children. Leidy, 23, was working as a nanny for the family. Being in Surfside was the first time she had ever been away from her native country. She was identified as recovered on Wednesday, July 7. Her body was flown back to her native Paraguay for burial.

Mihai Radulescu, 83, and Maria Popa Radulescu, 79, Apt. 404: Mihai and Maria Radulescu lived in Apartment 404. The couples bodies were recovered on Friday, July 9. Friend Gabrielle Emerson of Dania Beach wrote on her Facebook that “(Mihai) was a good man” and “RIP! We miss you.” She described Mihai and Maria as a “beautiful couple. Full of life. Humble. Churchgoers and good friends to all of us from Romanian Orthodox Family Church. God rest them in peace. Forever missed.” The couple will be laid to rest on July 31 on what would have been Mihai’s 84th birthday, friends said.

Michelle Anna Pazos, 23, Apt. 412: Michelle Pazos and her friend Anastasia Gromova, 24, were staying with Michelle’s father, Miguel Ángel Pazos. The two women, who lived in Montreal, had come to visit for a vacation from Canada. According to her Linked In page, Michelle spoke four languages, English, French, Spanish and Arabic, and worked for technology company Accenture as a management consultant in Montreal. A graduate of McGill University in 2018, it was there that she and Gromova became friends. She attended high school in Dubai, UAE. At the American School of Dubai, she was a student leader in SEENAH, a non-profit where she worked on events to raise funds for a school for children in Uganda. She had been a volunteer with Habitat for Humanity in 2013, where she helped build homes in Mozambique. Michelle was recovered on Friday, July 9.

Miguel Ángel Pazos, 55, Apt 412: Born in Cuba, Pazos’s body was recovered on Thursday, July 8.

Anastasia Gromova, 24: She met her friend Michelle Anna Pazos when they were juniors at McGill University in Montreal, Quebec, Canada. Michelle invited her on a vacation to South Florida where Michelle would visit her father in Apt. 412, and they could have one last hurrah together. Anastasia was going to be leaving for Japan where she had been accepted to a program to teach English. Anastasia’s mother told Canadian television that the last exchange she had with her daughter was on WhatsApp: “. . The last thing (she sent) was ‘I love you.’ "

Catalina Gomez Ramirez, 45, Luis F. Barth Tobar, 51, and Valeria Barth, 14: Luis Fernando Barth Tobar, his wife Catalina Gomez Ramirez, and their 14-year old daughter, Valeria, came from Medellín, Colombia to stay in a friend’s apartment at Champlain Towers South, Tobar’s brother, Sergio Barth, told The New York Times. The newspaper said they arrived on May 25 and were in South Florida to get the COVID-19 vaccine and to visit family. Luis and Catalina were recovered on Thursday, July 10, and Valaria, 14, was recovered on Friday, July 11. Luis was well-known in Colombia, an attorney, he had run a technology and innovation district in Medellín. Catalina was also an attorney.

Margarita “Maggie” Vazquez Bello, 68, Apt. 411: Soon after the collapse, her family said she had a home in Pinecrest, but stayed at the Champlain Towers in the summer months. Bello had her friend, Francis Fernandez Plasencia, 67, staying with her overnight. Plasencia was also killed and her body recovered.

Francis Fernandez Plasencia, 67, Apt 411. A GoFundMe page set up for Francis, who is the mother of 3, said that she was spending a night with some friends at the Champlain building when it collapsed. That day, family members emailed Local10.com to say that they would like a picture added to the online gallery and shown on television since she had not been heard from since the collapse. Her family said they were devastated. “Please help us by showing her picture; this will give us a small glimmer of hope,” the email read. She was staying overnight in her an apartment owned by her friend, Margarita Vasquez Bello, who was also killed in the collapse. Plasencia’s body was recovered on Monday, July 5.

Arnold “Arnie” Notkin, 87, Myriam Caspi Notkin, 81, Apt. 302: Arnie Notkin and Myriam Caspi Notkin, 81, met more than 40 years after she emigrated from Cuba, according to chabad.orgchabiad.org, who reported that she was a widow with three daughters when they married and the couple had been together 20 years. Myriam, who had worked as a banker and real estate agent, served on the association’s board, but was frustrated about their inaction, and when she had enough, she decided to quit. Arnie was a physical education teacher for many years in Miami Beach and was known as someone who “always had a story to tell.” Their grandson Jake Samuelson told Local 10 that shortly after the collapse the family kept getting telephone calls from their landline from a telephone that rested next to their bed. They received a total of 16 calls with the first one coming in the evening of the condo collapse at 9:50 p.m. The couple’s bodies were reported recovered on Friday, July 9.

Fabian Nunez, 57, Apt. 803: The theater director was with his husband Andres Galfrascoli, a plastic surgeon from Argentina, and their daughter, Sofia, and had come to the United States to get COVID-19 vaccines. They were staying at a friend’s apartment inside Champlain Towers South, according to those who knew them. Andres and Sofia remain unaccounted for. Fabian’s body was recovered on Thursday, July 8.

Nicole Langesfeld, 26, and Luis Sadovnic, 28, Apt. 804: Langesfeld, a 2019 University of Miami School of Law, lived with her husband of six months, Luis Sadovnic in Apt. 804. Andrew Dawson, the law school’s vice dean for academic affairs, taught Langesfeld for two semesters in 2018. “She was one of those students who you enjoy teaching because she actually had fun in the classroom, and did well,” Dawson said. “She was really bright, but she was also just a bright presence in the classroom because she brought joy to it.” Langesfeld and Sadovnic met while studying at the University of Florida, according to the Miami Hurricane. They moved to Champlain Towers South earlier this year. Both bodies of the victims were recovered on Wednesday, July 7.

Harold “Harry” Rosenberg, 52, Apt. 212: After losing his wife, Anna, to brain cancer and both of his parents to COVID-19 in New York, Rosenberg’s new home at the Surfside Champlain Towers came with the promise of a fresh start. The asset manager purchased the second-floor condo in May. In recent months, Rosenberg had dedicated himself to Mercaz Shalom, a young-adult center for mental healing, located on the campus of Mayanei Hayeshua Hospital in Bnei Brak, Israel, a project which Anna had begun before she was diagnosed, according to its website. His body was recovered on Wednesday, July 7.

Benny Weisz, 31 and Lisa “Malky” Rosenberg Weisz, 27, Apt. 212: The couple arrived in Surfside from Lakewood, N.J., the night of the building collapse to visit Malky’s father Harold “Harry” Rosenberg in Apartment 212. The couple had been married for five years. Benny worked in finance and Malky worked as an auditor in an accounting firm. Benny was recovered on Thursday, July 8. “Benny knows everything. He can quote the works of the great German playwrights and poets like Goethe and Schiller . . .,” said a childhood friend. Malky was recovered the following day.

Alfredo and Lorenzo Leone, Apt. 512: Raquel Oliveria was out of town and away from the Surfside condo when the tragedy struck. She was visiting her mother in Colorado. Her husband, Alfredo, 48, and son Lorenzo De Oliveria Leone, 5, where in Apt. 512. They did not survive the collapse. Their bodies were recovered on Thursday, July 8.

Maria Gabriela Camou Font, 64 and Miguel Kaufman, 65: Bernardo Camou Font said a change of travel plans caused his 64-year-old sister to die. Maria Gabriela Camou Font was scheduled to return to Montevideo, Uruguay, before a section of the 12-story Champlain Towers South collapsed. Her husband of four decades, Miguel Leonardo Kaufman, 65, was recovered on Friday, July 9. The couple visited Miami twice a year and wanted to spend more time with their grandchildren, Bernardo said. The news that his sister did not survive came on Thursday, July 8, when Maria Gabriela’s body was recovered from the rubble.

Ruslan Manashirov, 36, and Nicole Doran-Manashirov, 43, Apt. 703: Friends say the couple moved to Apt. 703 of Champlain Tower South two months ago after they were married. Ruslan was a neurologist and Doran-Manashirov was a physician’s assistant at Aventura Hospital. Ruslan’s body was recovered on Wednesday, July 7. Nicole’s body was recovered two days later.

Ilan Naibryf, 21, and Deborah Berezdivin, 21, Apt. 812: Ilan Naibryf, who was born in Argentina, was in his fourth year at University of Chicago, where he was pursuing a degree in physics with a minor in molecular engineering. Naibryf had been visiting Surfside with his girlfriend, Deborah Berezdivin, a graduate student at George Washington University. He followed her to Surfside to support her during the funeral of family friend who had died from COVID-19. They were staying in one of the units that Berezdivin’s family owned on the eighth floor, the New York Times reported. Their bodies were recovered on Wednesday, July 7.

Patel family: Vishal Patel, 42, Bhavna Patel, 36, Aishani Gia Patel, 1, Apt. 311: The Patels moved into Champlain Towers South two years ago. Their niece, Sarina Patel told KABC-TV that she had planned on coming to South Florida to see the family soon and to meet 1-year-old Aishani. Bhavna Patel, who had dual citizenship in England and the United States, was four months pregnant with the couple’s second child, according to family members.

Gary Cohen, 58, 11th floor: Dr. Gary Cohen lived in Birmingham, Ala., and had ties to South Florida, including his elderly parents, who lived in Boynton Beach. Cohen arrived Wednesday to stay in his brother’s two-bedroom condo on the 11th floor of the Champlain Towers South, one day before the collapse of the Surfside condo. His brother, Dr. Brad Cohen, was recovered on Wednesday, July 7. Gary Cohen graduated from Nova Southeastern University’s College of Osteopathic Medicine in 1989. He was a doctor, affiliated with Tuscaloosa Veterans Affairs Medical Center. Gary’s wife, Mindy, is co-president of Haddassah Birmingham (Ala.). She told Local 10 News: “I believe that Judaism sets up a structure and guidelines and gives us a moral compass. And that’s how we’re getting through this.” Cohen had come to town to visit his elderly parents, including his ailing father, who lived in Boynton Beach. Five days after the collapse, their mother, Debra Cohen, spoke to Local10 News about the possibility of losing both of her sons. “They are irreplaceable,” she said.

Elena Chavez, 88, and Elena Blasser, 64, 11th floor: Elena Blasser was a teacher and administrator for Miami-Dade County Public Schools. Chavez, a travel agent who loved adventure, was planning a trip to Turkey. Chavez lived at the Champlain Towers condominium with her daughter. The family had been making plans to enjoy a fancy brunch together in August to celebrate Chavez’s 89th birthday. She was recovered from the rubble on Tuesday, July 6, while her daughter was recovered the day before on Monday, July 5.

Edgar Gonzalez, 42, ninth floor: Edgar Gonzalez’s wife, Angela, and daughter, Devon, 16, survived a fall from the ninth floor to the fifth floor. But when they emerged, the husband and father was not with them. Angela, with a broken pelvis, was able to save her daughter. All three were in the same unit when the collapse took place. It is unclear how the family was separated. Edgar’s body was recovered on Thursday, July 8. Before his body was recovered, his mother, Comas de Gonzalez, was looking at the photos at the memorial, which continued growing at Champlain Towers South. At the time, she said that she still had hopes that her son was alive among the rubble.

Betty Guerra, 52, and Oresme Gil Guerra,60, ninth floor: The couple, who were in an apartment on the ninth floor, had only lived in the building a few months before the collapse. They were married in 2017. 60-year-old Oresme’s body was recovered on Thursday, July 8. Betty was recovered on the same day.

Richard Augustine, 77, Penthouse 10: Richard Augustine was only hours away from leaving for his native Chicago when the Champlain Towers South came crashing down. He had just returned from a trip to California where he visited his son when he went back to his apartment to pack his bags to see his daughter. Debbie Hill told the ABC affiliate in Chicago that he was supposed to fly out of Miami Thursday, June 24, but around 1:30 a.m., the Champlain Towers came crashing down. “He went home to repack his bags and he was coming to spend the weekend here,” Hill said. Augustine and Elaine Lia Sabino, who also died, lived in the same unit.

Elaine Lia Sabino, 71, Penthouse 10: A flight attendant with US Airways and JetBlue for nearly 10 years, the graduate of University of Florida had been a baton twirler on the Gatorette team. She kept up her love of twirling as a teacher and a judge at national competitions, according to her friend Shelly Angle. Her sister, Daytona Beach resident, Linda Howard, told The Palm Beach Post, “She was a very loving person. Very vivacious. She had a bigger-than-life personality.” JetBlue released a statement, which said, in part: “JetBlue is mourning the loss of our inflight crewmember, Elain Sabino. Elaine was with JetBlue for five years, but spent her career in similar roles serving travelers in the sky. We will remember Elaine for her larger than life personality and generosity, someone who was always willing to step up to help with a positive attitude. We are in director contact with her family to provide support through this difficult time.”

Cattarossi family: Graciela Cattarossi, 48, Estella, 7, Graciela Cattarossi, 86, and Gino Cattarossi, 89, Apt. 501: A friend wrote to Local 10 the day of the collapse and sent a photo of Graciela Cattarossi and daughter, Estella, 7, who were missing after the Surfside building tragedy. The friend said Cattarossi’s elderly parents, Graciela and Gino, were also missing. On Friday, July 2, Estella’s body was recovered from the rubble. Her mother’s body was recovered later that day. Graciela was a photographer, whose photos appeared in magazines such as Conde Nast, Martha Stewart Living, Vanity Fair and Travel + Leisure. But friends say what was most important to the single mother was her daughter. Also in Apt. 501 were her parents, Graciela and Gino. Their bodies were recovered on Tuesday, July 6, 2021. Their other daughter, Andrea, an architect in Pilar, Argentina, was visiting, friends say. Her body was recovered on Monday, July 5.

Nancy Kress Levin, 76, and Jay Kleiman, 52, Apt. 712: Jay Kleiman had come to stay with his mother at the Champlain Towers South from Puerto Rico to attend the funeral of a friend who had died from the coronavirus, according to chabad.org. A musician, Jay had released three albums, with his latest, “All the Voices in My Head,” coming out just three months before he died at Surfside. Nancy, according to the story, left Cuba in 1959 and moved to Puerto Rico, later coming to Surfside, Fla., where she became an active member of The Shul, according to Rabbi Sholom D. Lipskar. Nancy and Jay’s bodies were recovered on Monday, July 5. Nancy’s other son, Frankie, lived on the same floor as his mother. His body was recovered on Monday, June 28.

Frankie Kleiman, 55, Apt. 702: Frankie Kleiman was newly married to Ana Ortiz and lived with her and her son, Luis. Kleiman was identified as one of the victims identified on Monday, June 28, whose body had been identified. Other members of the Kleiman family who were killed in the collapse include Frankie’s brother, Jay Kleiman, who was visiting from Puerto Rico and staying with his mother, Nancy Kress Levin, in Apartment 712.

Luis Andres Bermudez, 26, and Anna Ortiz, 46, Apt 702: Bermudez’s cousin contacted Local 10 the day of the collapse to say Bermudez had muscular dystrophy and couldn’t walk. His mother, Anna, was identified along with her son on Saturday, June 26. “My Luiyo. You gave me everything,” Luis’ father wrote to his son on Facebook.

Simon Segal, 80, Apt. 1203: Simon Segal’s life was an accomplishment in structural engineering and construction. And, he was devoted to his craft. He was a product control reviewer for the State of Florida, reviewing test reports on Florida Building Codes, including structural components. Ironically, he died after the structure collapse of the condominium he lived in. He owned a construction company in Miami Beach and had worked throughout Florida as an engineer with experience in structural design. He was a real estate broker, a mortgage broker, and was fluent in Spanish, and, what he described as conversational in three other languages, Portuguese, Italian and French. He majored in structural and civil engineering at Cornell University and earned three master’s degrees. One he received in construction management in 1982, the other in finance in 1987, and an MBA in 1999, all from Florida International University. He taught real estate development and finance as an adjunct profession in the College of Business Administration at FIU. His body was recovered on Tuesday, July 6 — a victim of the Surfside building collapse.

Tzvi Ainsworth,68, and Ingrid “Itty” Ainsworth, 66: Tzvi Ainsworth prayed weekly at a small synagogue in Surfside, said Rabbi Areyh Citron. He and his wife, Ingrid, were among the bodies recovered from Champlain Towers South on Monday, July 5. According to the Jewish News, Tzvi and Ingrid had 7 children and lived in Australia for nearly 20 years. Family said they moved to South Florida to be closer to their children and grandchildren. On the day of the collapse, a baby girl was born to their son and daughter-in-law.

Stacie Dawn Fang, 54, Apt. 1002: The New Jersey native was the first victim to be identified. She was rescued on June 24 from the collapse and taken to a hospital after the collapse, but passed away there. Her son, 15-year-old Jonah Handler was pulled from the rubble and survived. The Fang and Handler family released a statement that said: “There are no words to describe the tragic loss of our beloved Stacie. The members of the Fang and Handler family would like to express our deepest appreciation for the outpouring of sympathy, compassion and support we have received. The many heartfelt words of encouragement and love have served as a much-needed source of strength during this devastating time.”

Manuel “Manny” LaFont, 54, Apt. 801: Manny Lafont was born and raised in Houston. Lafont’s former wife, Adriana Lafont, told Houston’s ABC13 that Lafont was a doting father to their two children, Mia, 13, and Santi, 10. They had just spent Father’s Day together only days before the collapse. A friend posted a video of LaFont dancing on Facebook and saying he was the “life of the party.” LaFont coached his son’s baseball team, the Astros, at North Shore Park, just a mile away from the Surfside condo. A friend is petitioning the city of Miami Beach to rename North Shore Park after LaFont. His body was recovered on Friday, June 25.

Andreas Giannitsopoulous, 21, Apt. 801: Andreas Giannitsopoulous, whose body was recovered on Wednesday, June 30, was visiting his father’s best friend, Manny LaFont, when the building collapsed. Giannitsopoulous from Houston, Texas, was studying Economics at Vanderbilt University in Nashville, Tenn.

Leon Oliwkowicz, 80, and Christina Beatriz Elvira (Oliwkowicz), 74, Apt. 704: The daughter of the Oliwkowicz couple contacted Local10.com the day of the collapse to say that she had not heard from her 80-year-old father and 74-year-old mother who lived in the Champlain Towers. Their bodies were recovered on Sunday, June 27. They were among six Venezuelan natives missing in the building’s collapse. A story in an Orthodox Jewish news website featured a story about the couple in which Mr. Oliwkowicz commissioned a Torah scroll in memory of his parents and, speaking in Yiddish, blessed those in attendance in Chicago at the dedication with “health and long life.” Mr. Oliwkowciz’s body was recovered on Saturday, June 26, while his wife’s was identified the next day.

Richard “Ricky” Rovirosa, 60, and Maria Teresa Rovirosa, 58, Apt. 312: The couple, who were in their apartment on the third floor, perished in the collapse at the Champlain Towers condominium. Maria’s body was recovered on Wednesday, July 7, while Richard was recovered on Thursday, July 8. A friend of Maria’s said, “She would take what she had and give it to everybody.” Monika Mucarsel Gressier told the Associated Press that the pair were a “perfect match.” Former congresswoman Debbie Mucarsel-Powell, who tweeted that Maria Teresa was a good friend and former colleague of her sister, had this to say after the bodies of the couple were recovered. “My heart is with the Rovirosa family today and all the families who are grieving and will never be the same after the Surfside collapse.”

Antonio Lozano, 83, and Gladys Lozano, 79, Apt. 903: Sergio Lozano said he had dinner with his parents, Gladys and Antonio Lozano, only hours before the collapse of the Champlain Towers South in the early morning of Thursday. Sergio said his parents would have celebrated their 59th anniversary on July 21 and had known each other for more than 60 years. The son said that his parents had joked that neither wanted the other one to pass away first because they didn’t want to be without each other. Sergio said if he was to find solace, it is that if they did not survive the collapse, that they “went together and went quickly.” Antonio’s body was recovered on Thursday, June 24, the day of the collapse, while his wife’s was recovered the next day.

Michael David Altman, 50, Apt. 1101: Michael Altman’s family and loved ones wrote to Local 10 after the collapse. They said they had checked hospitals and filed a missing persons report. On Monday, June 28, it was announced that his body was recovered from the wreckage of the Champlain Towers South.

Guara family: Marcus Joseph, 52, Anaely, 41, Lucia, 11, and Emma, 4: Marcus and his wife, Anaely and two children, moved into the Surfside building less than a year ago, according to Betsy Gonazalez, who told the Washington Post that she was Anaely’s aunt. Marcus’s body was recovered Saturday, June 26. Anaely, 41, and 11-year-old Lucia, and Emma, 4, were recovered on Wednesday, June 30, according to Miami-Dade Police. The family were members of St. Joseph’s Catholic Church in Miami Beach. Janice Gudman told Local 10 News her 11-year-old granddaughter had been friends with the two children since she was in kindergarten. “I feel incredibly sad. The girls were sweethearts,” Gudman said. Gonzalez told the Post that Anaely was born in Cuba and came to the United States when she was a teen. Marcus worked in the hotel business, Gonzalez said.

Hilda Noriega, Apt. 602: The mother of the North Bay Village Police Chief Carlos Noriega was pulled from the rubble in Surfside on Tuesday, June 29. The family was getting ready to move the 92-year-old out of the towers where she had lived for about two decades. “The Noriegas have lost their ‘heart and soul’ and ‘matriarch’ of their family, but will get through this time by embracing the unconditional love Hilda was known for,” a statement from the city of North Bay Village read.

Magaly Delgado, 80, ninth floor: Magaly Ramsey describes her mother, Magaly Delgado, as a strong 80-year-old who was living in an apartment on the ninth floor. Her daughter immediately drove to Surfside from Jupiter when she found out it was the building her mother lived in that had collapsed. Born in Cuba, Delgado moved to the United States in 1961 and worked all her life, according to her daughter. “She loved being at the beach and she loved her two grandchildren,” Ramsey said. Her body was recovered from the collapse site on Wednesday, June 30.

Bonnie Epstein, 56, and David Epstein, 58, Apt. 901: Bonnie’s body was recovered on Wednesday, June 30. Her husband, David, was recovered on Friday, July 2. The husband and wife lived in apartment 901. Their son, Jonathan, who lives in New York City, told Local 10 the day of the collapse that he hadn’t heard from his parents. Friends say they were snowbirds from the northeast who were enjoying early retirement.

Gonzalo Torre, 81, and Maria Torre, 76, Apt. 912: Gonzalo Torre lived with his wife, Maria, in an apartment on the ninth floor. On Friday, July 2, Gonzalo’s body was recovered. 76-year-old Maria’s was recovered almost a week later on Thursday, July 8 . Both were members of St. Joseph’s Catholic Church, the same church that the Guara family, who also died in the collapse, according to the church’s pastor.

Claudio Bonnefoy, 85, and Maria Obias-Bonnefoy, 69, Apt. 1001: The bodies of Claudio and his wife, Maria were recovered on Friday, July 2. They lived on the 10th floor of Champlain Towers South. Bettina Obias had flown to Florida to visit her Aunt Maria and Uncle Claudio, but when she arrived, she learned about the collapse of the building. In Maryland, Montgomery County Media reported that Maria and Claudio Bonnefoy had worked in Washington, D.C., where Maria was the Senior Budget Officer for the International Telecommunications Satellite Organization, while Claudio was legal counsel.

Juan Alberto Mora, 80, and Ana Mora, 70, Apt. 1011: Juan Mora Sr. and wife Ana, lived in unit 1011, which faced the ocean. Mora, born in Cuba, was a radio operator in Bay of Pigs Brigade 2506. His wife, Ana, worked for Delta Airlines for more than 30 years as in reservations, as a ticket agent and in marketing. She was assistant to the principal at Belen Jesuit Preparatory School.

Juan Mora Jr., 32, Apt. 1011: Juan Mora graduated from Chicago’s Loyola University and had worked at Morton Salt’s Chicago headquarters since 2016. A friend told the Chicago Sun Times that Mora had been working remotely from the condo in Surfside to help his parents. Morton Salt said in a statement that Mora served as manager of East Coast Distribution for its road salt business.
