Scholarships

Andrew Wegner, son of David and Angie Wegner, has received a $1,000 scholarship from the Minnesota Utility Contractors Association/TBG Education Foundation Scholarship. To be eligible, students must have a parent who works for a member company of the Minnesota Utility Contractors Association and plan to enroll in a university, community college, technical or vocational college for the upcoming school year. Applications are judged on career goals, a student essay, financial need, employment and extra-curricular activities and scholastic achievement. Andrew graduated from Alexandria Area High School this year and plans to attend Bethel University this fall studying business administration.

  • The University of North Dakota announced its Fall 2020 graduates. Other recognition

Ella Sorensen of Miltona was recently named one of Falcon View Connections Academy’s Students of the Month in recognition of her achievements and leadership in the virtual classroom. Ella, a sophomore at the statewide online school, was nominated by her teacher, Ms. Wilson, in recognition of her hard work and determination to balance her academic responsibilities with her competitive snowboarding schedule. As a Student of the Month, Ella will receive a certificate of achievement and be recognized in the school’s monthly newsletter and featured on the school’s social media platforms.
