Some 1,800 ha of land in industrial zones fit to build residential houses in Kyiv

Around 1,800 ha of land in Kyiv city and its suburbs in industrial zones potentially could be used to build over 400,000 apartments.

"Thanks to industrial zones up to 30 million square meters of housing could be built, which in theory could be over 400,000 apartments for up to 700,000 people," the press service of the Svitlo Park residential complex reported, referring to data from the company's analysts.

The experts said that the industrial zones in Kyiv could be developed in full within 20 or 25 years.

Former industrial zones would be built using the mini town concept, and one third of land parcels would be used for infrastructure facilities, the experts said.

"In order for developers to actively undertake the implementation of these projects, it is necessary, first of all, to create conditions under which it would be as easily as possible to change the designation of land parcels for industrial purposes and transfer them to the category of residential construction," the analysts said.

As reported, PJSC Kyivmiskbud (Kyiv), one of the largest developers of Ukraine, acted as an investor in the project of construction of the mini town of Svitlo Park at 2A, Naddniprianske Shose Street on the border of Pechersky and Holosiyivsky districts of Kyiv.
