Top Permits: New construction of a four-story, multifamily affordable housing development underway

A 35,670-square-foot multifamily affordable housing development totaling nearly $10 million will be newly constructed at 1515 Arts St. in Orleans Parish. The property will consist of four stories and be accompanied by on-sight parking. Renaissance Property Group, an affordable housing development group that has developed 17 properties totaling $200 million over the course of 17 years is spearheading the project. David Miller is the president of the group. Other properties in its portfolio include the Falstaff Apartments, Handelman’s Lofts and Millennium Square, Highlands South Apartments and more.

French Quarter properties 317 Chartres St. and 300 Bourbon St. will see minor renovations totaling over $3.5 million. 317 Chartres will see an overhaul of the sanitary drain and vent, plumbing, and gas systems for the bakery and apartments. 300 Bourbon will see 205 balcony doors replaced at the Royal Sonesta. JJ Costa Company and Brignac Capital Group are the contractors for each respectively.

In Jefferson Parish, tenant buildout totaling approximately $1.2 million will be performed by Clement Building Company, which has extensive experience with medical buildout for tenants in Metairie and surrounding areas.
