McCarthy Holdings Inc. has named Raymond J. Sedey as the firm’s next CEO, effective Jan. 1, 2020. Meanwhile, current CEO Michael D. Bolen will continue as chairman of the McCarthy board of directors.

Sedey began with McCarthy in 2000 as a project engineer in the firm’s Southwest region and most recently served as Southern regional president. He is expected to maintain an office in Dallas as well as an office at McCarthy’s corporate headquarters in St. Louis.

PBK announced several new hires in Houston. Chris Karl has joined the firm as chief financial officer, bringing with him more than 20 years of executive financial experience.

Lauren Brown has been named PBK’s corporate communications director. Brown has more than 15 years of journalism and communications experience and previously developed and executed communications for facilities management at MD Anderson Cancer Center.

CobbFendley has promoted Monica Silver to president. She will also sit on the board of directors. Silver previously served as senior vice president and region manager for utilities, telecommunications, broadband, pipeline and survey.

Tom Artz has joined CobbFendley’s Houston office as senior project manager with the construction management group.

The firm also hired Jim Gillis as survey department manager and Dion Allicock as senior project manager with the transportation group; both are based in the firm’s Frisco, Texas, office.

TDIndustries, Dallas, has promoted Ed White to president. In his new role, he will have oversight for Arizona as well as three North Texas-based business units. White will also join TD’s executive leadership team.

Skanska USA has announced that Ryan Aalsma has been promoted to executive vice president and general manager, overseeing regional operations in the San Antonio area.

Dennis Yung has been promoted to executive vice president and general manager overseeing Houston and Dallas.

Boh Bros. Construction Co. LLC, New Orleans, announced the appointment of two vice presidents: Ron Brylski, manager of the piling and marine department, who has been with Boh for 28 years, and Michael Hudnall, manager of the asphalt department, who joined Boh six years ago.

Deborah Wingler has joined HKS as vice president and health research lead, based in the firm’s Dallas headquarters. In this new role, Wingler will collaborate with research and design teams to develop and implement research initiatives. In her prior role as a research assistant professor with the Center for Health Facilities Design and Testing at Clemson University, she contributed to multiple, grant-funded projects and worked with multidisciplinary teams to develop solutions for improving patient safety, user experience and operational efficiencies.

Mike Patterson has joined HNTB Corp. as a national transportation practice consultant and vice president. He is based in the firm’s Oklahoma City office. Patterson’s career in transportation and finance spans more than 40 years, and he most recently served as secretary of transportation for the state of Oklahoma. Patterson serves as a strategic adviser to HNTB’s newly named Oklahoma City office practice leader, Heidi Katz. Katz’s role includes overseeing delivery of technical excellence and innovative solutions for projects.

Ashley Inman has joined HNTB’s Austin office as human resources manager for Texas and Louisiana.

Melisa Montemayor was hired as HNTB group director for engineering in San Antonio, Austin and El Paso and is based in San Antonio.

Chris Masters and Chad Humphrey have joined HNTB as associate vice presidents, both based in the firm’s Dallas office. Masters is transit and rail project director. Humphrey is North Texas operations manager and construction services project director.

Renee Ross was hired as sales officer and vice president for HNTB’s Central division, based in the Austin office.

MYCON General Contractors, Dallas, announced that Justin Jeffus, senior vice president of the firm, has been named a partner. Jeffus joined MYCON in 2004 as a project manager. He became vice president of retail services in 2014 and was promoted to senior vice president in 2017.

Amanda Greer recently joined PRISM Renderings, Houston, as accounting manager and will oversee accounting and financial reporting. She will also assist with client service, marketing and business development efforts.

Garver’s Oklahoma water team leader Mary Elizabeth Mach has been appointed by Oklahoma Gov. Kevin Stitt to the state’s Water Quality Management Advisory Council. Mach, who has contributed to the improvement of the state’s water supply for more than a decade, will join the 12-member council that provides recommendations to the Oklahoma Environmental Quality Board on rules governing water quality. She is based out of Garver’s Norman, Okla., office.

Richard Gann has joined Slack & Co. Contracting Inc., Houston, as director of project management. He has 27 years of civil and commercial construction management experience. Prior to joining Slack & Co., he was general manager of Ellingson Cos. CIPP/Rehab.

Rebecca Davis has joined LEO A DALY as principal and market sector leader of health care in the Dallas studio. She will lead the studio’s health care design practice in Texas.

The firm has also hired the Dallas staff of Array Architects, bringing with them a sizable portfolio of past and current health care projects.

This new integration brings health care-focused architects, interior designers and planners to LEO A DALY’s existing Dallas team, including Marsha Whitt, Lean Six Sigma health care; Katelyn Nunn, architect; Christina Taylor, planning and design; Gregg Hicks, planning and design; and Adrian Negron, lean design practitioner; and Rebecca Davis, the firm’s recently hired Dallas health care market sector leader.

Carey Sullivan joined Freese and Nichols Inc. as oil and gas practice leader, bringing 25 years of experience specializing in business development for engineering and construction management firms. Based in Houston, she will lead the firm’s growth in the oil and gas market across Texas and the Southwest.

George Fowler was hired to the stormwater practice group as a senior project manager, focusing on water flow and river engineering to mitigate flooding. He is based in Austin and will lead projects across Texas and the southeastern U.S.

Roger Kitchin, an engineer with more than 40 years of international experience, has joined Freese and Nichols in Houston as a senior engineer to help expand services related to dams and complex flood control structures and systems for clients across southeast Texas and Louisiana.

Persons Services Corp. has opened a new office in Houston, which will be led by Bryan Shuford, vice president and partner. He will continue to develop and expand the civil, utility and infrastructure group.

Brandy Moore has also joined Persons’ Houston office to serve as office manager and contract administrator.

Terracon, Dallas, has named Russell Clark as national manager of construction consulting services. Clark has more than 20 years of experience as a registered architect, a commercial property and facility condition assessment provider and a building envelope design and construction consultant.

Stephen McDaniel has been hired as business development director at Muckleroy & Falls in Fort Worth. In this new role, McDaniel will build a growing base of business by identifying, pursuing and developing relationships within current and potential market segments and client organizations. He previously served as business development manager at Alston Construction.

Nena Martin was hired as director of the workplace practice area at Gensler’s Austin office.

Jonathan Emmett has relocated from Gensler’s Los Angeles office to the Austin office to continue cultivating the sports practice area in the firm’s South Central region.

JQ announced four new hires in its San Antonio office civil engineering team: Erlath W. (Trey) Zuehl III has joined the firm as civil engineering team lead; Henry C. (Tres) Casal Jr. was hired as survey manager; Brett Bechtel joins JQ as a senior technician and civil designer; and Matt McCabe joins the firm as a civil/survey technician.

Monica Romero has joined HASEN Design Build & Development, Fort Worth, as an accounting and finance associate. She most recently served as a credit analyst at Oracle Corp. in the Latin America division.

Davis Odle was hired as HASEN’s newest project engineer. Davis recently graduated from the University of Mississippi with a degree in civil engineering and brings experience from companies such as FedEx and Tyson Foods.

Talley Riggins Construction Group has made several new hires: Stacee Strainer as assistant controller, Chris Abrahamsson as project superintendent, Chris Blair as assistant superintendent, Karen Folsom as project administrator, JP Kinmonth as assistant project manager and Ariel Miller as preconstruction manager.
